Stream Alerts

Show animated tip alerts on your OBS stream when someone tips you.

Stream Alerts let you show a live, animated alert on your stream every time someone tips you. The overlay works as an OBS browser source, so it plugs into Twitch, YouTube, Kick, or any platform that accepts an OBS scene.

For a visual tour of the feature, see the Stream Alerts page.

Setting Up OBS

  1. In your dashboard, open Settings → Stream Alerts.
  2. Turn on stream alerts.
  3. Copy your browser source URL.
  4. In OBS, add a Browser Source, paste the URL, set the size to 1920×1080, and enable Keep running when not visible.

That's it. Tips you receive will fire an alert directly on your stream in real time.

Customizing Your Alert

From the Stream Alerts tab in Settings, you can tune everything about how the alert looks and sounds:

  • Theme color — Choose from Orange, Purple, Blue, Green, or Pink.
  • Background opacity — Adjust how transparent the alert card is over your stream.
  • Alert text — Write the message that appears on screen. Use the {name}, {amount}, and {message} chips to drop in the supporter's name, the tip amount, and the message they sent. Up to 200 characters.
  • Duration — How long the alert stays on screen, from 5 to 15 seconds.
  • Position — Pick which corner of the screen the alert pops up in (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right).
  • Sound — Pick a built-in sound (Coin, Ding, Bell, Chime, Level Up, or Notification), or set it to none for a silent alert.
  • Badge — Show either your rigo.bio/your-handle URL or a QR code at the bottom of the overlay so viewers can find your tip page.

Settings save automatically as you change them, and the overlay updates live — no need to refresh OBS or restart your stream.

Sending a Test Alert

Use the Send test button on the Stream Alerts tab to fire an alert without processing a real tip. This is the fastest way to confirm OBS is set up correctly and to preview how a sound and color combination will look on your scene.

Regenerating Your API Key

Your browser source URL includes a private key that authorizes the overlay. If you ever share it by mistake, use Regenerate API key to get a new URL. The old URL stops working immediately, so you'll need to copy the new one and update your OBS browser source.
